DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ECONOMICS
A sound business model has its foundation in a stable economic structure. This was the basis in which evolved a new paradigm of study-Business Economics-a course introduced by the Department of Economics in the year 2005.
The self supporting stream of the Department of Economics which from the year 1991 has been offering a bachelors programme in Economics saw the need to train students to meet the requirements of a highly complex financial, banking and industrial world. This led to the introduction of the bachelors programme in Business Economics. A deep exposure to economic principles clubbed with business analytical skills are imparted to the students. Unique facets of this course are the real time projects and in-house industrial experience that students are encouraged to undertake. This strong foundation helps students to establish themselves as entrepreneurs, business and economic analyst, bankers and as economists in the ministerial departments of the government.
