Department of Computer Applications [B.C.A.]

“B.C.A. is a basic degree course to start a career in Information Technology. “

Our Department aims to expose students to the current trends in Information Technology, equipping them, both in hardware and in software. Our curriculum [prescribed by the Board of Studies and approved by the Academic Council ] is framed in such a way that

  • Core courses give broad base in the main field of study in the academic programme concerned
  • Allied courses improve their logical reasoning and problem-solving capability
  • Laboratory, project, term-paper and seminar courses improve their knowledge application capability in solving real-time problems.

The students learn from the best qualified and experienced Faculty in the different areas in excellent infrastructural facilities, such as Computer Labs, high speed internet connectivity, an updated library. A lot of practical training on various languages is provided to students of BCA to make them more efficient in their career.

Apart from their regular activities, students can participate in NCC, rotract, CSS and other extension activities. Seminars are conducted by outside IT and Educational institutions to the students every month. Students are mentored by the Staff members every month. Students can also actively participate in inter and intra Collegiate events.

The Departmental Association REGAALIYA is conducted every year in order to develop competitive skill among the students. The Department also releases its journal “BIT_BYTES” every year with latest IT updates.

Our Department focuses on building a trained manpower pool for business and technology services industry. Job prospects after studying this course can include becoming a Software Engineer, Network Engineer, Database Administrator, Test Engineer, System Analyst Programmer, Quality Assurance Engineer and Technical Support Engineer.

Our Department has a creditable record of placement of its final year students. As per recent trends our final year students who seek a placement are placed in reputed Organization at the initiative of our College prior to their leaving the campus.
